It all seems so logical: the easiest way to shave strokes is through better chipping and putting. So why do we always grab the driver and head to the range?
Spring Mill head professional Brendan Reedy says turn around, put that bad boy back in the bag, grab your putter, and try this drill on for size:
"My favorite short game drill would be a putting drill. You pick one hole on the putting green, and you drop five balls at ten-foot increments, so you're 10 feet, 20 feet, 30 feet, 40 feet, 50 feet. And you practice your distance control. Because most people when they struggle with their putting are not missing it by 10 feet left or right -- they're leaving it 10 feet short or rolling it 10 feet by."
A better touch means more confidence, and more confidence means <sound effect of ball falling in the hole>.
And that's a sound that tops this one <sound effect of ball off driver> any time!
