The president and CEO of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania is stepping down to take a job with The Vanguard Group.
Alba Martinez (photo) has been at the helm of the United Way of Southeastern Pa for three-and-a-half years, but she says it's time to move on:
"It is an amazing honor to be president and CEO of a community organization like United Way. At the same time, I'm ready in my career to move into the business sector and make a difference there as well.”
Martinez is leaving the United Way effective in May, to direct Vanguard's "Education Markets Group":
"I feel really, really proud of the accomplishments that we've had over the past three-and-a-half years and also feel that the United Way is in a very, very strong position moving forward."
