Former president Bill Clinton was on the campaign trail again on Thursday, making the case for his wife’s bid for president.
At a stop at Pottstown High School in Montgomery County (above), Pres. Clinton, who was accompanied by Gov. Ed Rendell and Montgomery County commissioner Joe Hoeffel, told the large crowd pressed into the gymnasium:
“It’s been a wild run, and an interesting one. And, there’ve been ups and downs. But it’s fascinating to me. It’s all come down to how Pennsylvania and the states that come after you vote.”
Clinton touted his wife’s positions on the economy and health care, and emphasized the importance of energy independence.
Longtime Pottstown Democrat and former borough council member Art Green says he’s still on the fence:
“He did make some very good points about the platform that Hillary stands for, some things that I was not personally aware of. So, it was very informative and I’m glad I came. But I now want to hear something from the Obama camp that might either match or refute some of the points that the president made.”
Seneca Covington, a Pottstown Democrat, says she’s also on the fence about Hillary Clinton:
“It’s very difficult to separate what he’s saying about his wife from what he’s actually saying from his own experiences as president of the United States. He represents hope, but can we expect the same thing from her?”
