Authorities Review Letter in Pa. Teacher Bomb Threat Case

by KYW's Brad Segall

Sentencing for a teacher convicted of leaving threatening notes at her former elementary school in Warminster, Pa. has been postponed so authorities can investigate some anonymous notes that were sent to the school and her defense attorney (see related story).

Susan Romanyszyn was scheduled to be back in a Bucks County courtroom on Wednesday, but that’s on hold to give authorities time to look over the anonymous notes.

Attorney Sara Webster says the notes indicate that someone else was responsible for the bomb threats and other ominous messages left at Longstreth Elementary last October.

Webster doesn’t believe her client is responsible for them:

"This handwriting in the one that was sent to me. I think it is very distinctive and it matches the handwriting of another piece of evidence in the case.”

Prosecutor Gary Gambardella calls the notes “hogwash”

“I can assure the public that they are absolutely false. The only purpose that they are out there for is to pervert the criminal justice system.”

He says if they can determine the source of the notes, additional charges are possible.
