Camp Counselor Hurt in Accidental Shooting in Delco

Police are investigating an apparently accidental shooting at a day camp at the Valley Forge Military Academy in Delaware County, Pa.

Authorities say an 18-year-old camp counselor was putting away a gun Thursday after a firearms demonstration when it accidentally discharged, striking him in the foot.

The counselor was taken by ambulance from the health center in Wayne to the Crozier-Chester Medical Center.

No campers were nearby at the time of the incident. Radnor Township police were looking into the mishap.
