City Hall Rally Held to Fight Homelessness

by KYW's Robin Culverwell

The men who want to be mayor are taking part in a rally against homelessness in Philadelphia. The rally was scheduled for 1pm Thursday at City Hall.

This rally is giving the mayoral candidates a chance to tell those attending what they plan to do to fight homelessness and poverty. This man says homelessness seems to be worsening:

"It's starting to be younger people, in their 20s not in their 40s, it's real bad."

One woman in Center City says more compassion is needed to help people who are down on their luck. That man you just heard says some people choose to be homeless in order to avoid responsibility.
