Wednesday's Child

Dasamer

by KYW's Larry Kane
Produced by Jim Melwert

Last week, we introduced you to Darnell (at left in photo). This week, we'll get to know his brother, 10-year-old Dasamer (above right).

Dasamer loves playing on the computer.

(Dasamer:)  "I go into the map web sites, I go into kids' web sites and I go in kids' picks."
(Kane:)  "So you love playing games on the web?"
(Dasamer:)  "Yes."
(Kane:)  "Math games?"
(Dasamer:) "Yeah, some of the games we play in the library are math, reading, spelling, and science."

Dasamer enjoys school just as much as he enjoys computer games:

(Dasamer:)  "I like to do art. I like science and math."
(Kane:)  "Of the three, what's your favorite?"
(Dasamer:)  "Science."

As for his personality:

"I'm really quiet sometimes, unless I'm laughing or with my friends."

One person who can always make Dasamer laugh is his brother Darnell:

"His jokes and says funny things, sometimes stupid, but it makes me laugh."

National Adoption Center spokeswoman Gloria Hochman says the bond between siblings is the most important bond we have:

"We do everything we can to find homes for them together.  So anyone who might be interested in thinking about Darnell and Dasamer, they are two lovely little boys."
