Promoting health and well being through locally grown produce, a Philadelphia hospital kicked off its weekly outdoor farmers market on Wednesday for employees and the community.
Maury Sheets of Woodland Produce in Cumberland County:
"Carrots, we have basil, cucumbers."
It's the second year he has been selling fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs outside the Pennsylvania Hospital at 8th and Spruce Streets.
Sheets: "Kohlrabi, which is in the cabbage family."
McDevitt: "Now that is something unusual, right?"
Sheets: "Yes, and you can peal the bulb. You can mash it or sauté it."
Cheryl works at the hospital she was all ears learning about kohlrabi or the German turnip.
Cheryl: "It's very interesting."
Sheets: "And some people do eat it raw."
McDevitt: "See you learned something today."
Cheryl: "Yes. I did I learn something."
The outdoor farmers market runs every Wednesday at 11:30am to 4pm through October 7th.
