Geno's Owner Wants Candidates to Visit 'Speak English' Establishment

by KYW's Mike Dunn

With both Senators Clinton and Obama in our region on Tuesday, Joey Vento -- the owner of Geno's Steaks and its 'speak English' sign -- is challenging both candidates to come down for a cheesesteak, wid controversy.

Candidates love to sample a South Philly cheesesteak, but Clinton and Obama advisors could urge their candidates to steer clear of Geno's and its sign demanding that customers speak English. Geno's owner Joey Vento (right) is challenging both Senators to stop by and give his sign a thumbs up or down:

"I say -- show some guts and come down here and talk to me face to face. You think there's an issue with my sign speaking English?  I'd be more than glad to sit there and debate it with you."

And Vento says he might even grab a delegate or two along the way:

"I got people wanting me running for the Presidency of the United States because of this immigration issue."

(Dunn): "Are you thinking about it?"

"Nah, I can't take a pay cut."
