Bucks County, Pa. is the latest community to post the results of health code inspections on line.
With 2,100 dining establishments in the county, everything from five-star restaurants to school cafeterias, and each of them inspected annually, it’s tough to follow who’s up to snuff, so to speak. Not anymore, according to Commissioner Charles Martin:
"People will be able now to access, through our county website, inspections that are done by our county health department personnel."
As new inspections are done, their results will be posted online, no longer filed on paper and stuffed in a drawer. It’ll take a year for the conversion to be completed. Those reports can be accessed by going to buckscounty.org and clicking on the link to the health department.
Camden County in South Jersey is in the process of installing a similar system.
