Thirteen-year-old Jamia loves to play basketball and run track. But, with a smile that would melt your heart, she says she has bigger dreams.
(Jamia:) "Be a model."
(Kane:) "What would you like to model?"
(Jamia:) "Clothes and shoes, so they can take pictures of me."
Jamia says her perfect day would involve shopping -- lots of shopping:
"Clothes and shoes, jewelry. You just have to have style."
Her family service specialist, Laurie Coventry, says Jamia is more than just a pretty face:
"I've found her to be warm and funny. A little shy when she's getting to know somebody, but she's a good girl."
And like any 13-year-old girl, Jamia loves hanging out with her friends:
(Jamia:) "We laugh and we talk."
(Kane:) "What do you talk about?"
(Jamia:) "I don't know -- just stuff that happens in school sometimes."
(Kane:) "Do you talk about boys?
(Jamia:) "Sometimes."
(Kane:) "Really? Do you want to share any of that with me?"
(Jamia:) "No!"
(Kane:) "I didn't think you would."
And Jamia says she looks forward to spending time with an adoptive family:
(Jamia:) "We would talk and we would go places together, go on trips and stuff like that."
(Kane:) "Would you like hugs?"
(Jamia:) "Yeah."
