Add another honor to the legendary career of broadcaster Bill Campbell.

"Our Person of the Year this year, 2008, ladies and gentlemen, Bill Campbell..."
      
He's a member of the Basketball and the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Sports Halls of Fame.  And now, in honor of his 68-year career stretching from Connie Mack to Jay Happ, the Broadcast Pioneers have selected KYW's Bill Campbell as their Person of the Year. 

Campbell (in file photo above) was typically humble at the announcement:
     
"I just can't express the joy that I feel today.  It's entirely unexpected.  I'm really surprised.  There are a lot of solid, good people who have accomplished a lot more than I have in this business, and I'm really delighted."
      
Campbell will be honored at the Pioneers' banquet in November.
