Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, Pennsylvania House Speaker Dennis O’Brien, Congressman Patrick Murphy and other dignitaries took part in fire academy training Saturday.

The mayor, the speaker and the congressman had a chance to do it all even learn how to operate a Scott air pack:

"It's the most important piece of equipment in the fire service because if you can't breathe, you can't work."

And Mayor Nutter was impressed:

"I’m quite excited about this kind of training. I think it gives those of us in public office a much different perspective."
