An Allentown, Pa. man has partnered with Philabundance to challenge people to donate one pound for each pound they lose in a weight loss program.
Ben Miller's goal is to lose 230 pounds. So far, he's lost 71 pounds, but it hasn't stopped there. He is challenging people all over the country to his program, Donate My Weight:
"In the Philadelphia area, what started as one person wanting to donate their weight, has turned into a group of people that got together, it's actually 14 people, and they are on a weight loss challenge that they're going to pursue through the end of June. And they're going to donate the total weight they lose to Philabundance."
Martha Buccino is president for strategic development at Philabundance. She says it couldn't come at a better time:
"The summer months that children are not in school, they do not receive the two meals that they usually receive during the academic year."
