Dozens of girls from the Delaware Valley spent part of their Friday afternoon at the King of Prussia Mall hoping for a shot to become America’s Next Top Model.
The CW Philly and the Spiegel Signature store in The Court held an open casting call giving the girls an opportunity to make a videotape that will be sent on to the producers of Tyra Banks’ hit reality show.
22-year-old Krystal Jackmon of North Philadelphia is a size 18 and on a mission to become the modeling industry’s next fresh face:
“I’m trying to break through the industry full force for full figure models; all the little girls who couldn’t believe in themselves back in the day… (you know) said they couldn’t do it. I want to change that for everybody.”
19-year-old Robin Tramell of Folcroft says she has what it takes to win the competition:
“I’m slim. I’m pretty. I have pretty eyes. I’m tall and I have a good personality. I’m fun. I’m energetic.”
The girls should find out some time over the summer whether they will get a call back from the show.
