Lucky Number 8-8-8 Is A Popular Date for Weddings

by KYW's Hadas Kuznits

Eight-eight-eight is a lucky day, not only for Chinese officials opening the Olympic games. Some local couples have chosen it as their wedding day.

Ayanna Reed and Wallace Roberts of Sicklerville were happy the date fell on a Friday so they could be wed exactly 3 years after their very first date.

"Wallace and I went on our very first date on this day-- August 8th of 2005," says Reed. "So after three years, we wanted to celebrate our wedding (on this date)."

When she and Wallace head off on their honeymoon, Reed says everyone will know about their lucky wedding date:

"We got hats that say bride and groom 8-8-08. It's going to be really exciting!  So when we go on our trip, everybody will know, we're 8-8-8!"
