Main Line Restaurant Offers New Drinking/Dining Concepts

by KYW’s Ian Bush

A new restaurant concept on the Main Line aims to be everything you need from drinking to dining.

Maia, just off Route 30 in the Villanova Center, opens for breakfast at 6am and serves its last cocktail around 2am.

The 22,000 square foot space has a cafe, two bars, separate casual and fine dining areas, a take-out market, and a craft beer cooler.

Managing partner Scott Morrison:

"From a food and beverage concept and from a design concept, it's really the organic materiality that is then contrasted against some very modern design elements."

Patio seating is planned around a fire pit. There's a fiber optic ice trough and a 1400-pound walnut burl stump converted to a maitre-d desk.

Entrees on the Western European dinner menu run $10 to $30, with bar food that trends a bit cheaper. For more information, go to www.tastemaia.com.
