by KYW’s Jim Melwert

A 17-year-old New Jersey boy is dead after he drowned while swimming with friends.

Five friends were swimming in a lake in Carneys Point, Salem County near the intersection of Crown Point Road and North Broad Street. Four of the friends returned to shore around 5pm, one of them didn't.

About two hours later, police say they found the body of a 17-year-old Gloucester County boy. They are not releasing his identity, pending notification of his family.

Authorities say it appears to be accident.
