A new exhibit opens July 15th at the National Constitution Center that explores the original ways architects are working to build better communities.
The new exhibit, Into the Open, shows how architects around the country have collaborated to foster civic engagement and to build better communities. The exhibit features 16 vibrant and innovative displays, like pods, for visitors to explore.
One of the most visible will be on the front lawn of the National Constitution Center; an 89-foot long photograph of the fence along the US - Mexican border. Linda Johnson is President and CEO:
“Communities which have been completely disrupted by the placement of that fence have worked around the issues that have been inadvertently created; where the government and the municipalities have not been successful in dealing with the social issues, the communities themselves have taken charge and made things work better for them.”
