Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama returns to Philadelphia on Friday for a pair of private fundraisers.
He’ll be busy on Saturday also, making no less than four campaign stops in the city. And Mayor Nutter is among those pushing for large turnouts at every site.
Obama starts with an 8am rally at Progress Plaza in North Philadelphia, followed by a 9:30am appearance outside the Mayfair Diner in the Northeast, arriving just after 11 at Vernon Park in Germantown, and completing the run at 1:30pm at 52nd and Locust in West Philadelphia.
Mayor Michael Nutter concedes it’s an ambitious schedule:
"The logistics are in place and ready to go for this event. So it’s going to be an exciting time for people at four different locations all throughout Philadelphia."
Later on Friday, though, Obama was expected to meet with donors. First, at the Sheraton, where tickets start at $1,000 a head, and later at the home of Comcast Executive David Cohen, where it’ll cost at least $10,000 to get in.
