A crowd of over 1,000 people gathered on the lawn of Independence Mall to watch a live broadcast of Obama's acceptance speech.
Michael Kraus of Abington was in the crowd and was moved by the speech.
"I thought it was great. He hit on every point he needed to and then some. I couldn't feel more invigorated as a Democrat or more proud to be one, and I can't remember a more proud time to be a Democrat in my lifetime."
Others said the speech filled them with hope for the future of this nation. One woman said she especially liked that he gave specifics on how he would turn the economy around, decrease our dependence on foreign oil, and create new jobs.
