The silver screen comes to Penn's Landing this summer, at the Independence Seaport Museum's "Seaport Starlight Cinema."
Spokeswoman Michelle DiGirolamo says the first of the family-friendly flicks will be shown on July 15th:
"We're having three movies -- one in July, one in August, and one in September -- and our theme is campy and colorful pirate movies from the '40s."
She says the movies will be shown outside on one of the terraces overlooking the river:
"You pack a picnic basket, you bring a blanket, you bring your friends, you bring your honey, and you come over. At $4 it's a cheap date. You get river breezes, you're out under the stars. What's not to like?"
If the weather turns foul, the cinema moves inside. Doors open at 8:15pm, the show begins at sunset. Find out more at phillyseaport.org.
