PHL Airport Gets #1 Ranking in Satisfaction Survey

by KYW's Mike Dunn

Here's something to ponder while waiting for your baggage at the airport. The JD Power folks (who survey customer satisfaction) say that Philadelphia International Airport is the best in North America.

JD Power's annual airport satisfaction study for 2008 puts Philadelphia International Airport in the #1 spot.  That's right, the number one spot.

Airport chief Charles Isdell understands if longtime passengers are surprised:

"We have been trying for several years now to turn the corner in terms of people's perception of the airport.  And a lot of their perception quite frankly has to do with the performance of US Airways. The performance of US Airways has gone up in the past year."

Isdell says the airport placed sixth in the JD Power survey last year, and was second the year before that -- but PHL has never, until now, been ranked first.
