Bensalem police have arrested a 37-year-old Philadelphia man in an online sex sting. Bensalem Public Safety Director Fred Harran says this bust is the result of an ongoing effort:
"We actually have a very aggressive special victims unit. One of the things that we're involved with is finding these pedophiles that are out there trying to solicit our kids."
Which led Monday's arrest of Joseph Calvo of Philadelphia. Police say that after three sexually graphic Internet chat room sessions, he made arrangements to meet someone he thought was a 17-year-old girl, but was actually a police officer. Harran says parents should not let kids just wander the Internet:
"The computer's not a baby-sitter. Watch where your kids are online. Don't let them chat on the computer in their bedrooms. It's amazing how many people are out there trying to solicit young kids online."
Suspect Calvo was sent to Bucks County prison on $750,000 bail. |
