Philadelphia police are investigating a reported sexual assault inside South Philadelphia High School on Thursday afternoon.
It was just before 2:30pm when a school district police officer found two boys and one girl engaged in what a spokesman called "inappropriate sexual contact" in a room in back of the South Philadelphia High School auditorium.
District spokesman Fernando Gallard:
"When the office arrived at the room, the boys ran away. So we are at this point looking for these two boys, who are South Philadelphia High School students. And we're working with Philadelphia police and conducting an investigation."
Gallard says the incident is being investigated as a sexual assault. No weapons were found. The 16-year-old, tenth-grade girl was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
