Wednesday's Child

Quadir

by KYW's Larry Kane
Produced by Jim Melwert

Like most kids his age, nine-year-old Quadir loves to play video games:

(Quadir:)  "The Nintendo Wii -- Super Smash Brother’s Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, and Mario Kart."
(Kane:)  "Do you win?"
(Quadir:)  "I come in second."

Quadir says he does well in school and his favorite subjects are math and spelling.  He also likes sports:

(Kane:)  "What is you favorite Philadelphia team?"
(Quadir:)  "The Eagles and the Phillies."
(Kane:)  "Do you have a favorite player?"
(Quadir:)  "In the Eagles I like Brian Westbrook."
(Kane:)  "Do you like Donovan McNabb?"
(Quadir:)  "Yes, a lot."

Quadir looks forward to finally having a permanent family:

(Quadir:)  "They can help me out with stuff that I need help with."
(Kane:)  "Like what would ask for help with?"
(Quadir:)  "Like with homework or if I can’t reach something in the closet."
(Kane:)  "What would you like to give back to them, love?"
(Quadir:)  "Love."
(Kane:)  "What does love mean to you?"
(Quadir:)  "Like if somebody likes you very much and they care about you."
