Rasa Kaye is the voice of the Philly Fun Guide on KYW Newsradio 1060. And she's a true multimedia journalist.
While still a college senior, Kaye became weathercaster, feature reporter, and female foil on radio station WABC-AM in New York City.
While working at WABC, she also met and married morning show host Ross Brittain (currently heading up "Ross Brittain and The Breakfast Club" on KYW’s sister station, 98.1 WOGL). When Ross took a job in Philadelphia, Rasa memorized the Amtrak schedule and spent two years of delightful weekends in the City of Brotherly Love while toiling in the Big Apple, the first of several "commuter marriage" episodes for the couple.
Kaye made a rewarding detour into television, winning an off-camera NY Emmy Award as associate producer for a WABC/ESPN production and winning an on-camera job as reporter-producer for WPIX-TV's daily talk show, "Best Talk in Town."
Forays into print led to bylines in the New York Times and other newspapers, and magazines ranging from Glamour to Sports Afield (her personal favorite).
But Rasa Kaye eventually decided to return to her first love, radio.
She spent almost 12 years with top-rated WLTW, New York as news director and morning news anchor.
Motherhood took priority in recent years but still allowed frequent news shifts and co-hosting appearances on various radio stations across the country, thanks to long-distance electronics. Now a full-time resident of the Delaware Valley, she continues to write, voice, and produce multimedia projects on a freelance basis.
Born to parents who came to the United States from Lithuania after World War II, Rasa spoke Lithuanian exclusively as a young child. She now speaks three languages fluently and is active in Philadelphia’s Lithuanian-American community.
