The American Red Cross has awarded dozens of people and organizations for saving lives.
Philadelphia International Airport employees LaTeesha Swann (Photo: holding plaque in middle) and John Litchfield (Photo: holding plaque far left) were on their way to work in February when they found a man lying unresponsive and short of breath in a parking lot. They worked on the man with CPR and AED until the man was taken to the hospital.
LaTeesha Swann: "I think it's an honor to receive the award, but more importantly, it was an honor to save that guy's life, that what's most important."
John Litchfield: "I had the classes and everything but you never expect to use them. This time it came in, someone actually needed help and I was able to help them."
Swann and Litchfield received the Certificate of Merit, the Red Cross' highest award. |
