At the Jersey Shore, Merchants and visitors are getting ready for a holiday weekend of activities to kick-off the summer season.
It's a Chamber of Commerce forecast, so we checked in with a few Chambers of Commerce at the Shore for Memorial Day.
John Siciliano, who heads the Wildwood Tourism Authority, says the weekend gets off to a traditional start:
"On Friday, we'll be unlocking the beach for the 2008 summer season. It's an event that we do every year. And at the same time, we kick off the International Kite festival that we have here."
They're unlocking the beach in Ocean City as well, where Michele Gillian heads the Chamber of Commerce:
"We have a big craft show going on this weekend, Saturday and Sunday at the Music Pier, and we also have our Memorial Day services on Monday."
And if watching tons of sand being pumped-in is your idea of entertainment, Gillian says shore-goers can also watch the beach replenishment project that's just underway. |
