6-Week Construction Job Begins Under 95

Work is beginning to fix the I-95 structural problem that caused a major traffic mess last week. But the good news is this construction should not impact traffic.

Last week's emergency repair was to put in a temporary steel structure to take the load off a crumbling concrete column supporting the elevated highway. This new repair is to replace the concrete column and remove the steel structure. It's expected to last six weeks.

PennDOT says the emergency repair and the permanent fix together should cost about $650,000.
