A new report in The Journal Stroke suggests that people who have suffered strokes, who exercise on a treadmill may actually rewire their brains quicker then those who perform other forms of exercise.
I think it's a very important study for several reasons.
First of all, for those who have suffered strokes it shows the importance of rehabilitation. But more importantly than that even, it shows for all of us that getting increased blood flow to the brain can help with overall intelligence and overall brain function.
That means as we get older, if we exercise more, and we do aerobic exercise, we're increasing that blood flow and study after study is showing that thats good for our brains.
