Suspect Nabbed After Double Shooting in Yeadon, Pa.

by KYW's Ian Bush and David Madden

A Yeadon, Pa. man wanted for the shooting of two people -- one of them a Delaware County constable -- was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in West Philadelphia, a couple of hours after the shooting.

Police say Tamarr Minor, 21, was being evicted from his third-floor unit in the Parkview Court apartment complex, in the 2200 block of Alfred Drive in Yeadon, because he couldn’t pay his rent.

During that process, they say, he pulled out a 25-calibre semiautomatic and shot the constable in the head, and apartment manager Ted Hicks in the chest.

Yeadon police chief Donald Molineux says a tip call led Philadelphia police to a house on Conestoga Street, near Lansdowne Avenue:

"That house was then searched. The subject was inside the house, and he was taken into custody without incident."

A gun was also recovered.

Both shooting victims were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where they were listed in guarded condition and recovering.
