Philadelphia police on Tuesday were continuing to look for a man who violently attacked a woman inside a center city apartment building in the 1600 block of Pine Street on Saturday morning.
Special victims unit detective Sergeant Ray Evers says the brutal attack happened around two o'clock in the lobby of the building just after she entered:
"During the physical assault, it turns into a sexual assault. There was an attempted rape, nothing was taken from the individual."
The victim managed to fight off her attacker and suffered only minor scrapes.
The suspect is described as an African-American male in his mid 20s to early 30s, clean shaven, with a medium to dark complexion and about 6 '3 tall.
As of 5am on Tuesday morning, police had few leads on a suspect.
