Twelve-year-old Tahjeria is only in 7th grade, but she's already set her sights on a job in health care:
"I want to be a doctor or a nurse or something, because I like to help out people and help them feel better."
Tahjeria says she thinks she'd make a good doctor.
(Tahjeria:) "I'm nice and I worry about people more than I worry about myself."
(Kane:) "That's a good thing. Are you the one they go to when they've got trouble?"
(Tahjeria:) "Yeah."
Tahjeria likes to travel, and says she wants to go to Barcelona:
"We were learning about Spain in school, and my teacher brought up Barcelona. And then at home I went on the computer and looked up Barcelona and I learned about what they do and what their cultures are. I thought it was really cool."
Tahjeria is hoping to be adopted, and explains what she wants most from a permanent family:
"I can talk to them, I can tell them my feelings and stuff or how I feel. Or I can just say, 'Can I talk to you?' Or they can talk to me about anything they want."
And she understands there are two sides to a relationship with a family:
"I have to give them respect. I have to show them that I care about them."
