Testimony continued on Thursday in the case of one Philadelphia teen charged with murdering another for his brand-new dirt bike (see previous stories).
Sydney Dyches, 16, has testified that his friend, defendant Eric Smith (above), admitted to him that he had confronted victim Luis Navarro at gunpooint on a dirt path in Tacony Creek Park and then shot him several times.
And later, Dyches says, he allowed Smith to hide the bike at his house. Police also found the murder weapon there.
But defense attorney Daniel Rendine, who said in his opening statement that Dyches and other prosecution witnesses had reasons to lie because they were briefly suspects, has pointed out discrepancies in Dyches's testmony and earlier statements to police.
Dyches says he had seen Smith with the gun before, but Rendine pointed out it was found in Dyches's house. Rendine asked, 'Was it your gun?' Dyches said no.
