It's not easy to lose weight, but now a new local program offers a personal helping hand.
It's called Fresh Start to a Healthy Weight. Temple University Physicians are offering one-on-one help to participants. And they're hoping that will be the key to get you to shed the pounds.
Dr. Sharon Herring, an assistant professor of medicine and public health explains what will be emphasized:
"Behavior modification is focusing on caloric restriction and improving and promoting physical activity through some cognitive restructuring with some patients to get them to identity and modify distorted thinking about food and activity and body image.”
She says losing just 5-percent of body weight can make a big change in overall health and reduce the risk of certain diseases.
