More traffic changes in are store for the Germantown Avenue reconstruction project beginning on Thursday morning.
Germantown Avenue is now closed between Cresheim Valley Drive and Woodbrook Lane.
Penndot spokesman Gene Blaum says starting on Thursday morning, drivers will be able to get to the Trolley Car Diner heading south from Chestnut Hill, but the rest of the closure will remain in place through the holiday weekend.
"That's because the newly placed granite Belgian block pavers are curing and we can't allow traffic to run over them in that area from the north side of the avenue."
The next phase of the $17 million project begins next Wednesday, Blaum says that will close Germantown Avenue from just south of the Diner to just north of McPherson Street. |
