A 48-year-old man is on trial on charges that he raped and robbed a 77-year-old woman inside her Olney home last year.
Prosecutor William Davis has told the jury that the evidence -- including testimony of the victim, now 78 years old, and DNA -- will show that defendant Kevin McKeither committed this horrible crime.
Davis says McKeither sneaked into the woman’s house as she returned home from grocery shopping, put a knife to her neck, threw her to the ground, then raped and robbed her and left her bound by her own clothing (see previous stories).
But McKeither has pleaded not guilty, and defense attorney Beth McHugh has argued McKeither did not fit the description given by the victim. And she contends that the crime scene was somehow contaminated, leading to the misleading DNA evidence.
