Burlco Woman Hurt, 2 Dead in Ocean County Plane Crash

by KYW’s Ian Bush and Jim Melwert

Two people are dead, and two others -- including a Burlington County woman -- were hospitalized after a plane went down in a wooded area in Ocean County, New Jersey Saturday afternoon.

Four people were on the plane when it went down in the woods near Eagles Nest Airport in West Creek, NJ, about 25 miles north of Atlantic City.

28-year-old Jacalyn Brown of Pemberton was listed in critical condition at Atlantic City Medical Center.

John Ambroult, the plane owner and pilot, died in the crash.  The Massachusetts man was 60.

41-year-old Stephen Claussen of Seattle also was killed.

Another man, 43-year-old Juan Carlos Salinas of Mexico City, was listed in fair condition.

New Jersey State Police Sgt. Steven Jones says Salinas managed to call 911 after the plane went down, around 3pm.

"Based on the one survivor's description of where he believed they were prior to the crash we were able to find that plane a fairly short distance away on the south end of the airport."

The Cessna Skymaster had recently taken off from Millville Airport on a nature study.

The cause of the crash remains unclear.
