Under Nutter, City Hall May Become More Visitor Friendly

by KYW's Mike Dunn

Mayor Nutter wants to spruce up life in and around City Hall, and his aides are exploring ideas like movie screenings and even a farmers' market at the building.

Nutter's "New Day, New Way" theme is focused in part on making City Hall a more inviting place. His spokesman Doug Oliver says staffers have been brainstorming ideas on bringing people here for more than city business:

"We've got all sorts of ideas, considering things like a farmers' market, considering things like movies, theatre, music, cafés -- just anything that might be of interest to the general community and things that will attract them to City Hall, the center of where government is."

The goal is to make the building, its courtyard and plaza more accessible.

No final decisions on this yet, but stay tuned.
