Taking a golf swing to the next level can be all about timing. Not tempo, timing. As in when you embark on the changes.
Fred Reidel (right), head professional at Wildwood Golf and Country Club, says June is usually not the best time for a complete rebuild:
"If they're willing to do a tear down and rebuild, we will do that. But I let them know it'll be kind of a rough season if they do that now."
We've all been there: try a new swing, hit a rocky stretch, try to find the old swing but get lost somewhere in the middle with no swing at all:
"You don't want that to happen because you lose golfers that way, too. After a while, you get to the point where it gets so frustrating you just think, I'd rather be out on the boat, you know? I don't need this! So we can't let that happen if we can help it."
Reidel would rather just tweak some things this time of year and save the overhaul for the fall and winter months.
