It's a new season. So do I spring for new clubs, or work on a new swing?
The Lou Guzzi Golf Academy at Talamore has all the latest bells and whistles for fitting, but the teacher in him always wins that tug of war:
"The first thing we need to do is work on the fundamentals of the swing. Work on grip, posture, stance. And then from there, as they learn the technique, and have a good solid golf swing, then we go into the fitting system."
Guzzi (right) says good equipment is part of the equation, but if you have game you can get the most out of those sticks:
"I do a swing demonstration with what I call the 'old one.' It's a club from the 1940s. I put a good solid swing on it and the ball goes right down the middle. But we want the best equipment, we want the best golf balls. But basically the most important piece of equipment we have is our body, and we want to learn to use it properly."
