The Jewish High Holidays are coming up, and there's a social event this week encouraging young people to come pick up free synagogue tickets.
The event is called a Taste of the New Year and it's a wine tasting, where over a dozen Philadelphia synagogue representatives will attend:
"And this event that we've put together is an opportunity where we can provide free high holiday tickets to people in their 20s and 30s to pretty much any of the Center City synagogues."
Ross Berkowitz, executive director of the Collaborative says it's a way to help get young people interested in their Jewish Heritage:
"We're calling it a taste of the New Year because it's an idea. It's not just a party. We're giving you a taste of all the synagogues in the area, so there will be representatives from each synagogue to tell you about them and at the same time, it's a wine tasting."
The party where you can come pick up high holiday tickets takes place Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 at the Gershman Y on Broad Street. For more info, visit www.thecollaborative.org
