Wednesday's Child

Zamir

by KYW's Larry Kane
Produced by Jim Melwert

Eleven-year-old Zamir is a busy, little man.

(Zamir:)  "I like to read, I like spell, I like to color, write, draw and play sports."

Since Zamir told me he likes spelling, we had an impromtu spelling bee:

(Kane:)  "Tell me, how would you spell 'building'?"
(Zamir:)  "B-u-i-l-d-i-n-g."
(Kane:)   "Highway"?
(Zamir:)  "H-i-g-h-w-a-y."
(Kane:)   "Okay, how about 'rocket'?"
(Zamir:)  "R-o-c-k-e-t."
(Kane:)   "Excellent, how about... ever hear of 'rheumatism'?"
(Zamir:)  "No."

As for sports, Zamir says he's a fan of football, especially the New York Giants.  He doesn't like the Eagles, but...

(Kane:)   "What if someone wanted to adopt you and they were Eagles fans, would you deal with that?
(Zamir:)  "Yes."
(Kane:)   "So in other words, you really want to be adopted, right?"
(Zamir:)  "Yes."
(Kane:)   "So you would even accept Eagles fans?"
(Zamir:)  "Yes. If I were to be adopted, yes."

As what type of family he'd like:

"A nice family with pets, and a family that would really love me."
