Judge to Allow Deer Fence at Shyamalan's Chesco Estate
|
A judge says that director M. Night Shyamalan can keep his deer fence around his suburban Philadelphia estate.
Chester County Judge Robert J. Shenkin's ruling on Friday marks the second legal defeat for local opponents who say the 8-foot green mesh fence is unsightly.
Neighbors say Willistown Township shouldn't have granted the filmmaker a permit for the plastic netting barrier. They say it blocks their views and hurts property values.
Shyamalan, whose movies include "The Sixth Sense" and "Signs," bought the 123-acre estate two years ago.
Township officials say Shyamalan has planned formal gardens on the countryside estate and doesn't want them destroyed by deer.
