Knockout Roses

by KYW's Fran Sorin

While taking a walk this past week, I was startled by a grouping of magnificent deep pink roses in full bloom juxtaposed against some dogwood trees whose branches were glistening with red berries.

These roses, Knockout Roses, are a type of landscape rose with rich, shiny foliage that are free from blackspot, Japanese beetle, leafhopper, and several other insects and diseases.

They bloom for months, are self-cleaning, which means no deadheading, with wonderful spring and fall leaf colors with bright hips for winter.

Knockout Roses are vigorous shrubs perfect for borders, containers, hedges and accents. They are hardy down to -20F, Zones 4—9.  And they thrive in heat and humidity. Knockouts are roses that keep on giving without taking. What gardener could ask for more?
