Lamonne

by KYW's Larry Kane
Produced by Jim Melwert

When nine-year-old Lamonne (lay-moe-nay, at left in photo above) describes her perfect day, it all begins at an amusement park:

"I would like to go to Clementine Park and go on a log ride."

But her social worker, Jacqueline Cassidy, says that what Lamonne really wants is to be adopted into a loving family with her older sister, E'Vazsa (at right in photo):

"Lamonne very much misses her sister. She wants to be in a home where they can be together all the time."

Cassidy adds that Lamonne and her sister have a lot to offer a family:

"They would get laughter, constant laughter.  They wouldn't get a lot of sleep because these girls are very active.  But they would get the love of two very sweet little girls who are just really dying to get to a place where they can settle in and say, 'This is home.' "

The two girls currently live in separate homes, and Lamonne gets sad when she talks about her sister. She hopes they can be reunited so they can do what sisters do:

"Playing and talking, girl stuff. And school. I'm happy to have a sister like that."
