6 Suspended in NJ State Police Assault Probe

As the Mercer County, NJ prosecutor's office conducts its investigation into an alleged sexual assault of a college student, the New Jersey State Police department confirms that six of its members have been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the probe.

The Mercer County, NJ prosecutor's office continues its investigation of the alleged sexual assault early Friday morning in a Ewing Township, NJ home.The 25-year-old victim claims she was attacked early on the morning of Friday, December 7th, and that at least one of her attackers was a New Jersey state trooper. She claims she met her attackers at the Kat Man Du night club in Trenton (above).

Prosecutor's office spokesman Angelo Onofri:

"The Mercer County prosecutor's office is conducting this investigation and it is our preliminary stages. As of this point no charges have been filed. And both the New Jersey state attorney general's office and the New Jersey State Police have been cooperating with this investigation."

New Jersey State Police spokesman Captain Al Della Fave confirms that six individuals have been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation, however he would not specify if these individuals were troopers.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no charges had been filed.
