Darnell

by KYW's Larry Kane
Produced by Jim Melwert

Nine-year-old Darnell is a little bundle of energy mixed with a little bit of comedian:

(Darnell:) "I like to make other people laugh."
(Kane:) "And how do you do that?"
(Darnell:) "Making crazy faces."

Darnell loves playing sports with his friends:

"We play football, we go outside and play basketball and baseball. And then we go inside and have a little snack and go to bed."

And he hopes to someday have pets:

(Darnell:) "I like hamsters and rabbits."
(Kane:) "Why do you like rabbits?"
(Darnell:) "Because they eat fast."

Darnell and his ten-year-old brother Dasamer are both looking for a new home. And National Adoption Center spokeswoman Gloria Hochman says it's important to keep the brothers together:

"Because siblings are the only people that know each other. They're the children that have gone through what they've gone through together -- they have a history. And sometimes a sibling is the only real connection that they have."

Next week we'll introduce you to Darnell's brother, Dasamer.
