Organic Seeds

by KYW's Fran Sorin

If you’re keen on becoming a more diligent organic gardener in this New Year, here’s something you can do.

Thanks to our emphasis on environmental issues, in recent years gardeners have become more aware of the hazards of conventional gardening. Yet, the importance of purchasing organic vs. traditionally grown seeds is rarely discussed.

It’s simple. Remember, all seeds that are collected and sold to consumers are taken from plants that have been grown either with the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers or organic methods.

As a consumer, you have choices and they are significant ones. By purchasing only organically grown seeds, you are making a difference. Good sources are: seedsofchange.com, heirloomseeds.com, abundantlifeseeds.com and organicaseeds.com.
